The Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator ("MEIA") was created in 2019 by the Maryland Clean Energy Center ("MCEC"). MCEC has an economic development mission to advance the adoption of clean energy, and energy efficiency products, services and technologies.
MEIA's mission is to create investible clean energy businesses. An investible business has the momentum and credibility to obtain third party investment to grow its operations and launch/grow its business.
Investible businesses satisfy the needs of capital providers in 3 essential areas:
Brian focuses on MEIA's administration, sponsorship and partnership development, recruiting founders, executives, and partners, and event planning.
Ben focuses on making teams successful by acting as project manager. Ben manages the teams' interactions with MEIA's resources including Executives-In-Residence, In-Kind Sponsors, and Strategic Partners.
Gary focuses on inventions coming out of federal laboratories. Gary identifies promising technologies, assembles Startup Teams and acts as their project manager.
Kathy provides strategic oversight and guidance. Kathy enables MEIA to leverage the deep reach and relationships in Maryland's energy ecosystem to support MEIA's teams.
